7 dont's after a meal

7 dont's after a meal

*    Don't smoke- Experiment from experts proves that smoking a cigarette after meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes (chances of   cancer is higher).

*
Don't eat fruits immediately - Immediately eating fruits after meals will cause stomach to be bloated with air. Therefore take fruit 1-2 hr after meal or 1hr before meal.

*
Don't drink tea - Because tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the Protein content in the food we consume to be hardened thus difficult to digest.

Don't loosen your belt - Loosening the belt after a meal will easily cause the intestine to be twisted &blocked.

*

*    Don't bathe - Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease.  This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.

*
Don't walk about - People always say that after a meal walk a hundred steps and you will live till 99. In actual fact this is not true. Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we intake.

*
Don't sleep immediately - The food we intake will not be able to digest properly. Thus will lead to gastric & infection in our intestine.

HOME REMEDIES FOR DARK CIRCLES

DARK CIRCLES UNDER THE EYES

Dark circles under the eyes tell us about the health of an individual. They are produced due to overstrain, after an illness or an allergy. They can also be the result of undernourishment. But these dark circles do not produce any harm to the body. So anybody with dark circles should not worry about them. In fact, sometimes they're not even an indication of physical problems.

Dark circles can be aggravated by fatigue, allergies, overexposure to the sun, menstruation or pregnancy. But they're usually hereditary; if your parents have them, there are more chances that you do, too have them.

Dark circles are the result of the engorged blood vessels under your eyes. Because the skin under eyes is thinner than skin anywhere else on body, therefore blood vessels there are more noticeable, especially in fair skinned persons. Usually, dark circles are caused by hyper pigmentation of melanin, the substance that gives color to the skin.

In western countries, the kidneys are related to the adrenal glands and with stress levels in life being so high; these glands are very often exhausted. When these glands are weakened, allergies are prevalent. Dark circles under the eyes are known to be a classic symptom of an allergy, together other signs including edema and fatigue.

Dark circles under eyes may also be due to aging which thins the skin around the eyes. Eight hours of sleep is essential. Do not leave cream on the skin around the eyes for long periods. Circles under the eyes can worsen in people who smoke or suffer from allergies.

All About Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is a disease in which skin cells lose the ability to divide and grow normally. Healthy skin cells normally divide in an orderly way to replace dead cells and grow new skin. Abnormal cells can grow out of control and form a mass or 'tumor'. When abnormal cells originate in the skin, the mass is called a skin tumor.
A skin tumor is considered benign if it is limited to a few cell layers and does not invade surrounding tissues or organs. But if the tumor spreads to surrounding tissues it is considered malignant or cancerous.
Cancer cells crowd out and destroy nearby healthy cells forming growths called malignant tumors.

Most skin growths, however, are non-malignant, benign (not harmful) tumors.
  • Some forms of skin cancer also metastasize. That is, they spread to other parts of the body and start new tumors.
  • Skin cancer that spreads to vital organs like the brain or liver can be life threatening.
The skin, which is the human body's largest organ, has several functions. It prevents the body from losing water and other fluid, stores fat, cools the body when sweat evaporates, and makes vitamin D. The skin also protects the body from infection, light, and injury.
There are three layers of skin:
  1. Epidermis - the outer layer of skin
  2. Dermis - the middle layer of the skin; contains nerves, blood vessels, sweat glands, hair follicles, and oil-producing cells that keep the skin from drying out
  3. Fatty layer - the deep layer of skin
Skin cancer begins in the epidermis, the outer layer of skin. The epidermis has three kinds of cells.
  • Squamous cells are cells that progressively flatten and fill with protective keratin (a tough, insoluble protein that makes skin almost completely waterproof) to form the outmost surface of the skin.
  • Basal cells are small cells located at the base of the epidermis that serve as a reservoir for squamous cells shed from the skin.
  • Melanocytes are cells that produce a dark material, or pigment, that gives the skin its color.
Each of these cells can suddenly start to divide abnormally and become cancerous. The main types of skin cancer are named after these cells.

Understanding Cancer

The body is made up of different types of cells that normally divide and multiply in an orderly way. These new cells replace older cells. This process of cell birth and renewal occurs constantly in the body.
'Cancer' is the name for a group of diseases in which certain cells in the body have changed in appearance and function. Instead of dividing and growing in a controlled and orderly way, these abnormal cells can grow out of control.
A tumor is considered benign (not cancerous) if it is limited to a few cell layers and does not invade surrounding tissues or organs. But if the tumor spreads - or has the potential to spread - to surrounding tissues or organs, it is considered malignant, or cancerous.
Cancer (malignant growths) occur when:
  • Some cells in the body begin to multiply in an uncontrolled manner..
  • The body?s natural defenses, such as certain parts of the immune system, cannot stop uncontrolled cell division.
  • These abnormal cells become greater and greater in number.
Facts about skin cancer
  • About 1.3 million Americans are diagnosed with skin cancer each year.
  • There are three kinds of skin cancer. The rarest, melanoma, is the most serious.
  • Almost half of all Americans will have some type of skin cancer at least once by the time they reach age 65.
  • Most cases of skin cancer occur in people age 50 and over.
  • Childhood sun exposure may decide an individual's risk of skin cancer.
  • People with certain skin types have the highest risk of skin cancer.
  • Some individuals may inherit a defective gene that increases the risk of malignant melanoma.
  • The risk of skin cancer may be rising because of damage to Earth's protective ozone layer..
  • A routine skin self-examination is important in early detection of skin cancer.
  • The cure rate for skin cancer would be almost 100 percent if all were detected early and treated.

Habits That Help You Manage Your Stress

Habits That Help You Manage Your Stress

Today we have more stress in our lives than ever before – good stress, bad stress, red stress, blue stress. No matter what kind of stress it is, a real crisis or an imagined one, stress is incredibly harmful to our body, mind and soul.

Here are a few self-care habits for dealing with stress

1. Get in the habit of noticing.

Take an inventory of all the things that just don't feel right in your life or that you know are causing you stress. For example, when you approach certain people, places or situations do you feel more stress and tension? Once you have your list in place, look at what you can change yourself, and do it. You can also use this list to predict stressful situations before they occur.

2. Get in the habit of asking for help.

For what you can't change yourself, you need a team. Build a team of experts to handle your list. A coach, at the top of the list, will help with the big picture and will keep you honest about your efforts. Other team members might be a family doctor who listens to you, a financial planner, a massage therapist and an exercise partner.

3. Get in the habit of bouncing back.

Think of Plan A as your basic self-care plan while stress is under control. Now imagine something happens and you are under stress. Instead of abandoning all self-care because you can't do it all, have a Plan B ready beforehand.

4. Get in the habit of relaxing.

If you practice relaxation techniques (breathing, meditation, imagery, music) every day, then when stressful situations come up you'll have the tools at your fingertips.

5. Get in the habit of gratitude.

Our attitude comes from our emotions and our emotions come from our thoughts. Thinking about what we're grateful for and what we're good at can keep things positive. It's not about shying away from what's challenging you - it's about approaching life from a place of strength and not as a victim.

6. Get in the habit of creating.

Experiment with a new recipe in the kitchen, write a poem, bang a drum, do a craft, take a dance class or do something else that feels creative to you.

7. Get in the habit of putting your stuff away.

Physical clutter can really impact mental, emotional and physical health. Get rid of things that don't make you happy when you look at them. Organize your stuff. Find a place for everything and keep it there.

8. Get in the habit of breathing.

This is the simplest and quickest way to relax yourself in a stressful situation. The minute you focus on your breathing it automatically gets slower and deeper.

9. Get in the habit of daydreaming.

Take yourself away on an imaginary holiday. Just close your eyes and go! Picture somewhere you've been or somewhere you've dreamed of.

10. Get in the habit of giggling.

Laugh out loud every day.

Cancer Causing Foods

Take Care About Your Health

Live Life Without Limits!

The top five cancer-causing foods are:

1. Hot dogs
Because they are high in nitrates,
the Cancer Prevention Coalition advises that children eat no more than 12 hot dogs a month. If you can't live without hot dogs, buy those made without sodium nitrate.

2. Processed meats and bacon
Also high in the same sodium nitrates found in hot dogs, bacon, and other processed meats raise the risk of heart disease. The saturated fat in bacon also contributes to cancer.

3. Doughnuts
Doughnuts are cancer-causing double trouble. First, they are made with white flour, sugar, and hydrogenated oils, then fried at high temperatures. Doughnuts, says
Adams , may be the worst food you can possibly eat to raise your risk of cancer.

4. French fries
Like doughnuts, French fries are made with hydrogenated oils and then fried at high temperatures. They also contain cancer- causing acryl amides which occur during the frying process. They should be called cancer fries, not French fries, said
Adams.

5. Chips, crackers, and cookies
All are usually made with white flour and sugar. Even the ones whose labels claim to be free of trans-fats generally contain small amounts of trans-fats.

BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS

1. No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level.
This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.

2. Overeating It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.

3. Smoking
It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.

4. High Sugar consumption
Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.

5. Air Pollution The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.

6. Sleep Deprivation
Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.

7. Head covered while sleeping Sleeping with the head covered increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.

8. Working your brain during illness
Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.
9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.
10. Talking Rarely Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain.

------------------------------ ------------------------------ -------------------------------

The main causes of liver damage are:
1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause.

2. Not urinating in the morning.
3. Too much eating.
4. Skipping breakfast.
5. Consuming too much medication.
6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and artificial sweetener.
7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body is very fit.
8. Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to the burden of liver.
Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store.
We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb and get rid of unnecessary chemicals according to 'schedule.'

DO TAKE CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH...........

INNER HEALING

All of us experience problems, some big and some so small that they are important only to us.
Over a period of time, these problems tend to return and create new problems for us. This happens because our subconscious minds record every feeling and action, making them memories in a deeper part of ourselves.
Remember the many times you were driving while deep in thought, and suddenly you realized that you had driven home? Or when you reacted in a certain way to someone or some episode that reminded you of some incident, pleasant or unpleasant, in the past?
Our subconscious minds are very powerful and are responsible for our impulsive reaction and all our habits. The subconscious is different from intuition. The subconscious mind does many things at the same time and knows the answer to all things. Is is form subconscious that every great artist, musician, philosopher and scientist draws his or her power. The powerful subconscious mind builds our bodies and health and continues to run our entire lives. The only reason the body starts to deteriorate or becomes ill is due to subtle changes in thoughts as time passes by. The truly amazing thing is that our subconscious minds affect our bodies and all the organs and can heal any illness or health problem.
If we anticipate that healing will be long, difficult or impossible, then that’s what it will be. If we anticipate that emotional healing will be available, easy, fast, then that’s what it will be.
Here’s a famous saying: “Think you can, or think you can’t, and either way you’ll be correct.”
All pain-physical emotional or spirituals begins and is maintained by a factor of resistance. This is resistance to acknowledging that the problem exists. If we don’t acknowledge the problem, it will persist. But when we release our resistance, healing will begin. The subconscious mind pushes the conscious mind to act on what we deeply believe in. people who suffer from low self-esteem or similar issues constantly act in ways that endorse their feelings about themselves. They may blame the external environment but the truth is that they perform actions that are congruent with a low self esteem. Many people are unable to drop bad habits even if they promise to. That’s because they’re not ready or convinced about dropping the bad habit.
One way to influence the subconscious mind is to make positive affirmation. If you are aware of the subconscious mind and make sure that your ‘intention’ and ‘action’ match, you can open up the dormant powers of the subconscious. This will help you achieve a healthier balance in your inner mind. Healing can be rapid and profound when it comes from the subconscious mind.

PLACEBO EFFECT

Healing, they say, has as much to do with the mind as with the body. But just how much power does the mind exercise over the process of healing? Can placebos, which have no medical value but are simply administered to generate a sense of well being in patients, actually accelerate healing?
Yes says a recent study. The study published in the journal psychosomatic medicine says that placebos could help in managing chronic conditions like psoriasis or asthma, the treatment of which is also influenced by the patient’s mental state. Moreover, they could also help maximize drug benefits, reduce side effects, costs, and limit addiction.
Prescription of placebos to patients to help alleviate general anxiety and fatigue. ‘B.complex or multivitamin tablets work as good placebos and help give the patient a general sense of well –being. They work well when patients complain of nausea, headaches and vomiting without there being a serious underlying cause to any of those complaints’.
Complementing the cure
Although placebos themselves don’t cure any diseases, they also do not interfere with the physiological processes of the patient’s body, and hence play a therapeutic role. In certain causes of depression and hysteria, psychiatrists administer placebos along with a regular dosage of medicines just to calm the nerves of the patient.
“Placebos work according to the suggestibility of the patient’s mind, which is to say how well he’s willing to cope with his condition”
Not surprisingly, the success rate of a placebo also depends on the environment in which it is administered. While studies are carried out in tightly controlled environments, the actual efficacy of placebos in real life is also influenced by factors such as dietary habits, lifestyle and psychological factors.
While prescribing placebos foe chronic diseases like psoriasis, the doctor has to consider all these extraneous factors.
Ease the suffering
“Psoriasis is a multi-factorial disease that can be paused on through genes or be caused due to stress, hormonal imbalances, medicines or changes in food intake. Once the cause has been ascertained, the main treatment begins. And placebos are administered in the event that the person is suffering too much because of stress or a psychological fear or notion.”
Various homeopaths’ believes that placebos provide a mental crutch, when jostling with chronic conditions. “At the end of the day, we all need mental support.” The placebos provide that to the body and allow it time to heal without further medication.”
